About PT-141 peptide
PT-141 is a synthetic cyclic peptide of seven amino acids that activates melanocortin receptors, the receptor family that α-MSH acts on. It was developed from Melanotan II (MT-2) and differs from it by a single chemical group. In clinical literature the same molecule is called bremelanotide. Prism Labs supplies it as a 10 mg lyophilized vial.
The structure of PT-141 is Ac-Nle-cyclo[Asp-His-D-Phe-Arg-Trp-Lys]-OH: an acetylated norleucine followed by a six-residue ring closed between aspartic acid and lysine. The reference record lists the formula C50H68N14O10 and a molecular weight of 1025.2 g/mol (PubChem CID 9941379).
